How many black people get forgiven by white people? Zero That's a big double standard. And I guess his brother forgot about those n-word jokes she had. What's next, black people baking cakes for KKK rallies?

    2. Ricky Rogers

Trevor Noah you missed the greatest point of the story

    3. holbrook muhindi

Black people love their oppressors 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️ no matter what they do religion and false doctrines has destroyed black people

    4. Caro Brown

That s crazy , why???? Had it been reversed, we would be looking at 50 years!!! Hugs... SMH that Christianity nonsense...

    5. LAVON LYONS

HOW MANY OTHER CASES HAVE THE JUDGE HUGGED THE CONVICTED MURDERER!!! THEN 10 YEARS WITH PAROLE

    6. Brinn C-O

Alternate (totally comedic) take: Amber gets a hug for taking the fall like all murdering cops should. Idk man I’m just a lighter black person with an impenetrable white voice who avoided school segregation. I obviously know nothing about institutions demanding respect without giving any. But for real, Amber can use her white privilege to bring the public eye to minimum sentencing. She’s talked about her guilt in taking a life, and she could be that one ally who demands better of her demographic. I’m choosing to think she is capable of improvement, and - given the circumstances - holds an incredible opportunity to create real change. All the more reason for the Jean family to maintain emotional cognizance and respect to how difficult Amber’s life is going to be. Who better to understand the toll of the American punitive “system” than a black family. Change only ever happens when a white ally is willing to call their people and themselves out.

    7. Scorpio Moon

The media is always trying to demonize black victims of any crime.

    8. Street Horse

It won’t happen this is a white country

    9. kesch

      Sensible and intelligent insight, Trevor.

    10. Eric Hawkins

      An excellent analysis.

    11. Janeice Karanja

the prosecuter asked for more time and 10 years wasn't the max for the crime! "She was safe in the hallway, behind a door when she first suspected an intruder was in her home, Hermus said. She had a police radio and a phone to call authorities. She could've taken cover behind a nearby set of fire doors or retreated down the hallway, Hermus said. Instead, she chose to become the aggressor, he said.".... From Cnn www.cnn.com/2019/09/30/us/botham-jean-amber-guyger-trial-monday/index.html On max sentence NY times: "The jury deliberated for about an hour and a half before deciding upon a sentence that was well short of the maximum 99 years in prison Ms. Guyger could have received - but also longer than the two years jurors might have imposed." ..."Prosecutors had asked for a prison term of no shorter than 28 years, the age that Mr. Jean, whose birthday fell during the trial, would have been if he were alive today." It also seems it was a MURDER CONVICTION NOT a manslaughter one ..."“Why give a murder conviction and then give 10 years,” asked Dominique Alexander, the president of the Next Generation Action Network, a local social justice organization. “That’s just a slap in the face.”...."Activists concerned about preferential treatment complained that Ms. Guyger was not immediately arrested at the scene, and was initially charged with manslaughter. A grand jury later returned with the charge of murder."..."Of the 12 jurors, five were black, five were Hispanic or Asian, and two were white." not 7 black jurors as some are saying. www.nytimes.com/2019/10/02/us/amber-guyger-sentencing.html

    13. Fred Chou

Trevor Noah you are my MVP

    14. todd Coachaveli

Are we going to talk about how the dallas police department assassinated botham genes nieghbor joshua brown the day after the trail

    15. Steve Ladner

More people have been killed in Laredo Tx. By people with badges than anything else. Between trigger happy cops and murdering border patrol agents. Laredo police even killed a Webb county deputy during a welfare check.

    16. Grabbearjet

Noah for President 2020. Not really. Maybe yes, really. I wish you and I could have conversations. I would love to pick your brain and debate with you. My social life sucks because I can't find people I enjoy socializing with. Putting this vid in my favorites. BTW does Trevor even read these comments? I would love a comfirmative reply!

    17. Batman's Dragon

Well said, Trev. Love this guy.

    18. AlZaji Beauty

      Beautifully said

    19. enghy eugene

Blacks are treated differently from whites. It's always been like that in America. It's not gonna change. Sad to say

    20. aj aj

Well it's just the way we got America lol

    21. Custom Money

This white lady's tears ARE NOT connected to the hundreds of thousands of POC who are serving excessive time because of specifically designed, racially-motivated policies. She represents the OPPOSITE problem of a sentence not matching the magnitude and impact of the crime. What about the fact that now the black audience watching now have to think twice about just opening/unlocking our front doors. Asking for the sams consideration she was given is asking a deep sacrifice from the privilege that just honestly saved her life in the courtroom. This wasn't a stark contrast that could be extented to the rest of the justice system, this was white privilege doing its thing and to imagine Black and Brown people benefiting from any aspect of this trial tastes like some ALM BS.

    22. Winston Virgo

Fuck bro and judge.Uncle Tom MF.

    23. Tesynia Taylor

Justice WASN'T served. She should have gotten 25-life

    24. Sip and Story With Ivo

The accuracy of this video. Man. It’s so sad. This is America. #sad

    25. Anu Enki

I suppose it will take a south african to say this

    26. butch oblick

this lady clearly did NOT deserve to have a badge or a gun... sometimes, you gotta wonder at how many idiots are out there posing as law enforcement... my comment is not to suggest that most police officers are nut bags... most are good people doing a very tough job. but there has to be HIGHER Psycological testing before someone gets to wield a postion like a Police Officer....

    27. Cory Butdette

Its the black men and woman who serve this country in the military who are sellouts! We are being killed in cold blood while our bitch military blacks are overseas protecting white people SMH

    28. Joanna Leacock

Well said, Mr. Noah. I found it interesting how dim the lights were in the studio audience, seemingly, as an aid to keep them calm. Very smart to do while speaking on such a “complicated” as you said, topics

    29. Rich Mack

Get that dum ass black girl off this please she so stupid I bet they paid her some change fa this sale out

    30. David Grunzweig

I know you gotta just do comedy, but man you could help guide the world

    31. David Grunzweig

      AMEN! BROTHER NOAH!

    32. m

What stood out to me is that this women is a police officer, and her first reaction to seeing an 'intruder' is to take the most LEATHAL weapon she has to take someone's life. NOT to use a taser, pepper spray, or to even double check where she is. Besides the fact that white women, in general, have a history of 'cry wolf' type situations with black people, ESPECIALLY men; it is WRONG for a police officer to approach a situation in that way.

    33. Audio Visual Proof

10 year sentence and eligible for parole after 5. I pray someone shanks that racist pecker-head white bitch to death within 5 hours after arriving to her cell! Lastly, why are some Black people so damn forgiving of, fucked up in the head, whites when we all know they wouldn't shed a tear for us! Amber Guyger's fake tears said it all! Her face looked emotional but no tears fell from her eyes because she is that wicked!

    34. Mawusi Bulliner

This sickened me. This shows the massive poisoning and brainwashing. You hugging a cold blooded murderer after she not only murdered your brother, but then try to dehumanize him. What the fuck are you forgiving. I pray for my people to break these mental chains. What has forgiving snd forgetting gotten us in 400 years. Smmfh Fuck these animals. Humans dont behave in this manor.

    35. Starlett Barbre

Why would the judge do that???? The man was sitting in his LIVING ROOM eating ice cream!!!!!! Go to the Rickey Smiley Show to hear what Judge Lynn Toler had to say on this situation regarding to the judge’s action and the giving of the Bible.

    36. Starlett Barbre

Hello handsome!!! I’ve missed watching your show!!!!! I’m baaacccckkkkkkk!!!!!

    37. Agrippa Ligege

"For justice delivered without dispassion, is always in danger of not being justice. And that dispassion is the very essence of justice"

    38. Maxine Tash

how did she enter his house

    39. Debo4735 X

You're totally right, damn bro I've never looked at it that way. Bravo!

    40. Linda W

"They tell you about the human being behind the act". Trevor you articulate the issue so very well. This was a really good explanation of the frusturations many people have when it comes to the way whites and blacks are portrayed and regarded as victims versus the perps of the crimes.

    41. Lasvéyé Mwen

You touch my with these words !💪🏿🔥💯💯

    42. Journal Wright

For some reason, they always pick the right Black people to mess with. They pick these docile Evangelical Christians.

    43. CALIFORNIAN SOUL

Not only black people are dealing with the same shiznit but so are BROWN people, cousins off the Black

    44. I'mSoo Shook

We've been hoping for "the same level of compassion to be shown to black people" for how long now? FOREVER! Let's face it, it aint ever gonna happen, folks.

    45. I'mSoo Shook

Those crocodile tears of theirs are seldom even real. Ask Susan Smith.

    46. Donald Hooker

The 1.3 dislikes are from racist. Why would you not like what he's saying??

    47. Theodore Coleman

These killings on black people by police it almost make you go num. After all these years as a black person living in this society you start to get use to these things. We will never be treated like human beings...

    48. kibu

"Can i please give her a hug?" knocks her the fuck out with a uppercut

    49. SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT. save the environment

Trevor its not every human being should be treated like human being..

      1. Ava Limpa

I agree. Amber should have been treated like a black man.

    50. Jeroen Delpeche

Until we stop talking about race, things like this keeps happening. We keep dividing ourselves as human race. It may seem like Trevor is doing the right thing here, but he's really not, he's adding fuel to the flame. Talking about white women tears, stop bringing other things in to this matter. It shouldve been a beautiful moment and gesture what this young man did for this broken woman. Trevor is only tearing her down the way he speaks about this matter. As a human race we should be building each other up ESPECIALLY when we were wrong or harmed other people. If you are a Christian, please remember or reread how Jesus forgave His enemies and not His friends. We should try to be more like Him and "fight" the "system" through love and if we see an act of love lift that up. God bless to all of you.

    51. Artemis

Do y'all remember that white lady that aggressively harrassed those black folks for having a cookout and when the cops showed up she started crying so they could divert to her?? That's the magic of white woman tears.

    52. travel squadd.

"I thought he just liked holloween "😆😆😆this is sad situation....some drug dealers get more than 10 years....fire the judge...justice system FAIL

    53. Kush Zulu

The jean family sold out. Plain and simple. Bootlicking dad and son

    54. Minority Justice

White people r fake . Can not stand them

    55. Kana Beats

I can't believe she only got 10 years. I mean I can't believe she got any time at all, but only 10 years. man. reverse roles and dude would've been doing life

    56. Joe Smith

And now the new murder by Fort Worth police dept.'s cop of another black home owner?! What the Hell is really going on?

    57. AA

Trevor, as much as I like your show and what you do, that was a bit too far on the kumbaya side of a "point of view". Let's not forget when you (as well as myself) were a twinkle in your/my parent's eyes, "brown" people were getting their heads bashed in, hung from trees, economically deprived, marginalized and anything else that is akin to oppression yet they continued to reach for inclusion with dignity, respect, and decency. We're (brown people) not dealing with a group of people that share the same character traits (dignity, respect, and decency). This is not MY opinion but merely a recollection of what white people show the world every day. So, the part where you said that we shouldn't want a particular person (or group of people) to be brutalized through the courts, yet, push for a system that treats ALL people with the same respect...let's not forget "THEIR" system. Their system is built with something THEY don't speak on...INEPTNESS (when you don't have the skills or genius...CHEAT). That's what they live for (talk to people of other countries if you think I'm out of my mind). On a daily basis, you can turn to most television stations, radio, media, etc..and you hear about "How we can make America a better place". All they are interested in is shaping our minds on how to live, pray, eat, sleep, breathe, think, and don't forget....GRIEVE & FORGIVE. They give me no reason to believe that they are capable of being decent beings. That leaves only one thing...INEPTNESS. So, 500 years later and kumbaya STILL doesn't work. The ground we walk on is filled with blood because of that song. Just saying!

    58. smokeyvelvet42

Thank you, Trevor, you are addressing a very volatile topic, which very few will admit that this egregious behavior does exist in America & when a person of color is fatally shot they deserved it, or they weren't complying etc. We expect compassion when a white person is found guilty of the same crime but is not expected to show empathy when a person of color is sentenced or shot to death. We are living in a very hypocritical society, all one has to do is observe the number of shootings since Trump being sworn into office and the spike in hate crimes, not to mention the people attending rallies with their trailer park mentality, preaching and advocating hatred and bigotry.

    59. mrclinf85

Texas is a state where people ore getting death sentences, she gave bull shit excuse for killing a men and get 10 years. Who knows maybe they were secrets lovers and the relationship ended, maybe he overheard some dirts on her and she wanted to take him out.

    60. gharsalli sabrine

This just made me burst into tears.. Speechless

    61. brwnskndgirl

      Thank you Trevor! Spot on!

    62. AMY B

      Well said Trevor!

    63. Tay R

Trevor Noah couldn’t have explained this any better!

    64. Kogie Reddy

Its a joke. 5 yrs fpr killing a man in his hse. Justice dont exist

    65. CALIFORNIAN SOUL

I agree 99% bravo.... except one thing for me it isn't the color of skin it is the color of law the fact that it was another example of cops trained to think it is policy to shoot and KILL..,whatever happened to shoot to injure.....instead it's aim to kill ask questions later mentality that cops have now.

    66. Velkin.Enuda

Nah trevor you got this one twisted mate. Maybe it was the sheer amount of white people in the audience that made you water this one down the way you did.# AND HOLD ON A DAMN MINUTE. How the hell do you walk into someone else's house full stop? Wasn't the fucking front door closed?????

    67. Sandra S

and I wish it also applied to latin american immigrants...

    68. Vin Judah

Wow, Trevor is light weight speaking on the agenda's of sneaky America.

    69. Vin Judah

The thing is, it's not about the Jean family, it's about justice for senseless killings of unarmed blacks. With all this forgiveness and boot licking, they just set us back 30 years.

    70. Shamaneika Johnson

      Agreed
