    1. Velvet Hammer

Gardner-White Furniture of Michigan advertised on this video too. Did they pay you? I think they may be hijacking your videos to try to sell their call me furniture. I think they are going after phone numbers that are just in Michigan.

Ive been following your video lately sir. I love what you did in that place. So quiet and no noise from the city. Keep it up and keep uploading new videos! Good bless!

So many people think the same way. This is truly therapeutic to watch. Thank you for making all these great videos it's like a treat everytime. I think the porch looks so great! Stay safe out there.

    19. Roaming Gnome

I wish I was Canadian. I’m worried about one of us getting sick and having to spend our entire retirement savings on medical and prescriptions not covered by insurance. It would be one less thing to worry about. Always enjoy your videos.

    20. lynnb

That coffee looks thick......strong!! 😂😂 Nice porch adds alot to cabin, and could always be converted to additional room if needed!! 👌😊😊

    23. Jessica Barclay

Hey Shawn, I watch Townsend channel. Their latest was a road trip to look at the oldest cabins, existing in America. Little did I know, the cabins were designed to be covered outside, to aid longevity. One was built in the 1600's!!! You may find it interesting to watch, on a rainy evening. :)

    24. JayeBird

This is always very interesting and fun to watch. I am one of those people who cannot do anything like this and always wished I could. You are lucky. :)

    27. Pamela Chadwell

    28. Wayne Moureau

I have a question about your new porch. How are going enter the porch? Are you going to make a doorway to it from the sidewall of the house?

    29. Dan Duncan

All your videos are great and informative thanks 😁👍

    32. Jeff Glover

I watch most of your posts while on the treadmill, keeping my heart in shape. Following your progress on this beautiful build keeps my mind in shape. Thank you.

    33. Bill Mitchell

Hope you get to take us ice fishing👍👍

    34. Arioska Guzman

      Amazing work. God bless you

    35. Mess 4Fun

      5:24 I thought Cali a bear

    36. Mess 4Fun

The cabin looks bad now with the porch, it’s bulky and taking over the front view of the cabin. I miss the old look 💔

    37. d.j. Robinson

Great work aye! Can't wait to see the cedar sauna.

    38. Eagle1

Mr. James, I've grown to love Canada, I'm from the states but I've gone fishing there probably 20 times at Meadow Lake Fishing Camp 60 miles north of Kamloops, have you ever heard of it? We stay in log cabins, use firewood for heat and hike to the many lakes to enjoy incredible fishing. You live in an environment I've dreamed of for years. Of course I realize you have put an incredible amount of hard work building your home in the wilderness. It's a pleasure to watch you pursue your dream of living in the wild. Thanks for providing us with an enjoyable, relaxing escape from the concrete jungle.

    39. CowGames

you, sir, are living a dream many of us wish to be able to live some day. congrats on building every but of it with your own hands!

    40. Ecklectic Gal

The only thing I worry about is that you may be using wood that isn't seasoned, that is, it is "green" wood, which as you know will shrink when it dries. I see you cutting down the trees and then using them right away for your projects.

    41. Annie Farmer's Farm

In the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky I built my cabin in 97. Gosh this makes me want to start building again! I Love wood! You are a perfectionist! Everything thing is perfect! What a Awesome job. You can stand back and be proud! I lost my little dog that helped me all the way he had a long good life part of my desire died with him Me and him worked years on it! Best friends, Hug your Dog!

    42. DoorKicker

      I can do that.

    43. Scottie Combs

Looks great, keep up the great work.

    44. Tommy Riordan

And that's the last time I watch your vids when I'm hungry

    45. John Hansen

Everything is coming along nicely, and the cabin with the porch looks great!

    46. Gina Monty

The screened in porch is a beautiful addition!👌🏻

    47. Gina Monty

Hats off to you for all that hard work filling the cracks with moss Shawn! Do you ever worry about ticks in the woods?

    48. Bill Gaetz

Question, have you ever had a water dozing (don't know if I spelled that right) done on your property near the cabin, you've not mentioned it that I know of and why is you're bathroom so far away from the cabin? If you where as old as I am , that sure as hell be a factor.

      1. My Self Reliance

I can witch water myself actually. The issue near the cabin is that it's perched on bedrock, the valleys are the only places with deep soil and a high enough water table to access without drilling.

    49. Anonymous Уася

My Self Reliance, Beautiful project, nice job! Have not seem the tv probably 3 years, now i enjoy your movies, it relaxing after the work day. I see you have a garden, self made everything. You work 12 hours a day, but you work for your self and you like it. The cabins you made is other than in Europe, happy to see how it really looks like the joiner work in other continent. Keep doing, will share your best work to others friends, is amazing what you do :)

    50. dave52732

Really like how the porch has shaped up. Looking forward to all the other projects too.

    51. Ava Jackson

I used to watch this a lot but I think he's building to much stuff

    52. David Sherbert

You're slowly turning that off-grid cabin into an off grid mansion …..i'm envious!!

    53. TheGoodHeart1000

You do know the sweetest dog on US-new is Cali. Just wanted to bring your attention to that fact. 😊

    54. Christoffer Lindberg

Found this channel today, haven''t been able to stop watching! You are amazing and please just keep up your awesome work and let us follow you on whatever journeyor challenge you take in life! Also loves seeing you with your family when they come and visit and your relationship with your dog :) You are a great woodworker and even though I'm terrible myself, it feels like I'm learning from you :) And now just a totally dumb amateur question but: why do you sometimes use nails with the boards and sometimes screws? Really don't know anything and just curious :) Love your stuff!

    55. Powell McVay

I’ve been watching you channel for a while and I hope to get to a point in life to have some land somewhere in Montana to do the same. Take care!

    56. Lynda Dentry

    57. Asi Kit Shop

The wood is direct for build. Not chemical or water for uninsect?

    58. Margaret Carter

I’m a happy bunny binge watching your videos having been away with no internet for a couple of weeks! Love your new porch and all your videos!

    59. Peter Svetlík

    63. Jessie's channel

Another signature craftsmanship, Shawn. Since I started watching your channel, I shared your channel with my son, my staff , my family and friends. Oh, and our 2 cats. They perk up when they see Cali. :).

    64. LKNANML

Really shows how well the original wood as aged being next to the new addition. Any plans for he stove vent like continuing the inside rock wall outside around the vent? This has been an amazing project to watch from the start. Any plans for a semi indoor/outdoor workshop on the kitchen side? Or is the plan to finish the Sauna and start the cabin skyscraper project? 42 floors of rustic cabin living with a view........

    65. Kathleen Wilson

What is the name of that sauna stove? It looks like Halkla but nothing comes up on the internet with that name.

    66. ViralOne

      Looks amazing bro!

    67. Michael Thompson

YOU ARE AMAZING ~ Love all you do !

    68. Thelma M.

    69. David Soderberg

Hey Shawn: I have been watching both of your channels for some time now and I am so impressed with your re-invention of yourself and your priorities in life. I use you as an example to my kids to show you can fall down and pick yourself back up. How you can take chances in life and with drive and determination, reach your goals. Thank you for sharing your life with others, you are an inspiration to how a simplified life can be so rewarding.
